SDCC: San Diego Comic Con 2010

Post by xombiekitty on Thu Jul 22, 2010 10:18 pm

Since I can't be there in person, I plan on spending all my time over the next couple of days devouring everything I can find about the goings on at SDCC, through the wonders of the interwebs!
So prepare for any and all piccies and tidbits of interest (well, to me at least) that I happen to find during my hunt Very Happy

Over at Cinematical they have a bunch of images from the preview night already online!

Okay, first off... I can't scroll past a facehugger without thinking about my early LRP days.
Aww, cute little critters Wink

Next, Batman: The Brave and The Bold... as a game! Yay!
Please, someone confirm that it's as wonderfully cheesy as the cartoon!

Now, we discussed Battle: Los Angeles briefly on the podcast ages ago (it may have had a slightly different title), but for those who don't know about the film, check it out on IMDB.
The poster looks good & gritty!

Yay! I really wish there was more out there about the Captain America movie.
*fingers crossed* more gets released this weekend Smile

Have we all seen the trailer for The Green Hornet yet? It's great!

Absolutely loving The Green Hornet Booth Babes! Their outfits are awesome!!! I love you

This is one of the most sort after exclusives at SDCC, if twitter is anything to go by!

Sulu For Men! George Takei is brilliant Very Happy

In the lead up to SDCC some more images from Thor were released. I'm also hoping that new things come out of this weekend.

One of the images I've posted in the Thor thread in the watching section includes this throne Smile

I I love you Bumblebee!

Tron Legacy continues to be a massive drawing card for SDCC.
Here are a couple of the figures...

... and the spiffy headphones and phone dock!

The full scale lightcycle has seriously done the promotional rounds since it was first unveiled, but everyone I know still wants to see it in person for themselves Very Happy

w00t! What awesome piccies! I really wish I was there!!!
I know a *ton* of people going this year, so I really hope they all have fun Smile

All though cool stuff was going on at SDCC,there was some negative happens going on out side. There is a group here in the states called Westboro Baptist Church. This group protest at military funerals, schools that allow kids that are gay or whatever. Really they are a bunch of hate-mongers,well they where protesting SDCC and the one thing with that people at Comic-Con are........PRO-TROLLS! Co check out some pics and a video of the going ons.

Pro church as I am, I am always saddened by fringe lunatics like this who give even "dogmatic" a bad name...sigh. I think its great that the fans at the expo reacted in the way they did - by throwing their own prejudices back at them with a large dose of humour and irony.

Geeks ftw...

Wanting my own holiday to come even quicker now that i see what fun everyone is having over there...

I love the Buddy Christ, and the Love is Love is Love sign from Electric Dreams.

But you can't blame the Arse hats from the Westboro Baptist Church, they don't know any better . They hate the world and anyone thats different from them, and thats there racket . So maybe they should have a can of Slurm and chill the #$@* out. And maybe a nice daily dose of contraceptives to keep them from going forth and mutiplying.

And Westboro Baptists are the poster children for everything that's wrong with organised religion. Fundies of any sort be they Christian, Muslim, Hindu, FSM or Atheist (yes Richard Dawkins I'm looking at you) are invariably the problem with any religion.

As a wise bumper sticker proclaimed "I have no problem with God, it's his fan club I can't stand."

An interesting way of putting it - God's extreme fanboys and fangirls - the over-the-top, get-a-life fanatical kind. I'll have to remember that!
