The Reality of Superpower Origins

Re-watching some of the DC animated shows, I have to wonder what would really happen to a person if they were subject to various superpower origins (not counting natural genetic mutations or aliens):

Bitten by a genetically engineered super-spider: death by poison
Exposed to a large electric shock: death by electric shock
Covered in radiation: death by radiation poisoning
Cosmic radiation: instant death or death by slow radiation poisoning
Covered in toxic chemicals: instant death or slow death by toxic poisoning
Subject to extreme cold over seconds: death by freezing or death by frostbite

Any others you can think of?

Shipwrecked on a deserted island - Make yourself a bow and arrows out of trees, they don't shoot staight, die of starvation and exposure.

Watch your parents shot by a thief - Spiral into depression, get hooked on drugs, owe money to a drug dealer, die from being thrown off a building.

And I know you said no aliens but...
Your world is dying and your parents end you to another world - Step out of your ship and die of asphyxiation because you can't breathe in an oxygen atmosphere.

On a side note I always thought about what would happen if Spider-man was actually stuck to the ceiling. The ceiling would probably fall off because of the weight of him on the ceiling.
